WHAT IS VEGAN & CRUELTY FREE COSMETICS?

TheJournal

The trend when buying beauty products has changed radically in recent years.

The fact is undeniable: we seek a greater presence of natural ingredients and more environmentally friendly processes.

This is why the portfolio of organic, natural and vegan cosmetics has expanded to incredible levels, but we ask ourselves: are we as familiar with all these terms as it seems?

Vegan cosmetics are those products that do not contain ingredients from animals or products produced by them since they only use plant ingredients. They are not tested on animals and are very respectful of nature. Veganism is an ethical alternative to the consumption or the use of products of animal exploitation.

When a product is classified “cruelty free”, it refers to the fact that it is free from animal abuse and that it has not been tested on animals.

Wisdom Cares is committed to the environment and to a green future. All the ingredients we use are 100% vegan and cruelty-free since we only work with natural and powerful ingredients that the earth offers us and also protect, nourish and strengthen even more sensitive skin, so that it is healthy and free from guilt.

Veganism is a philosophy of life and we are very aware of it. We must respect animals and not use them for our own benefit. We must also minimise our environmental footprint so as not to further harm our planet. That is why all Wisdom Cares products are vegan using only natural ingredients.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VEGAN AND NATURAL COSMETICS?

Natural cosmetics were born in response to the large number of toxic chemicals that were used in the processes for creating cosmetics such as silicone, synthetic softeners, parabens or oils derived from petroleum. Its main objective is to try to eliminate the use of petroleum derivatives, chemicals and synthesis in formulations and opt for ingredients of natural origin with the least possible processing.

Natural products are very beneficial for the skin, since they do not cause redness or allergies because they are very respectful with the skin (especially with the sensitive one).

The tendency is to think that natural cosmetics only come from plants, but they also use ingredients derived from animal origin (beeswax).  And there we find the difference with vegan cosmetics, that it only uses plant ingredients.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN VEGAN AND ORGANIC COSMETICS?

Organic cosmetics are those that come from organic crops (without using synthetic fertilisers or pesticides) and that do not use raw materials that come from animal origin and are considered cruelty-free. In addition, the essential oil extraction processes must be as natural as possible. On the other hand, vegan cosmetics do not need to come from organic production or be 100% natural; they are totally different concepts.
