The Interview

Can you introduce yourself in a few words, tell us who you are and what you are doing for a living?

I'm Georgie. A creative at heart who loves to travel, meet new people and explore the world.

My dream creation Studio Unfold is where I practice acupuncture and offer more still practices for introspection and healing. Growing up with a mother as an acupuncturist and experiencing depression at a young age I have always been fascinated by the modalities of Chinese medicine and how each of us have this innate power inside of us to learn what we need in order to grow from each experience (painful + joyous).

What is your biggest life lesson?

I’m sure I have a million more life lessons to go. Up until this point I would say I had to learn the hard way that the greatest love of all, is the love you give yourself. We come into this life alone, we leave alone and it’s the people we meet along the way who touch us in profound ways. We always get to make the decision who we surround ourselves with and the relationships we nurture in order to make this life more fruitful. No one is going to dream your dream harder than you dream it.

Where did you get your passion for the holistic world?

I would say it’s more of a lifestyle than a passion. A practice that has stayed with me, because of how aware I am that symptoms can be treated with Western medicine, but it doesn’t treat the underlying Qi and strength of the physical/emotional body. My mother always fed herself so well and took herbs, so I grew up seeing the phenomenal ability of these things to put us into a calm state, where we feel vibrant, energised, fertile and most importantly ourselves.

How do you find inspiration in your everyday life?

The patients and the clients I meet give me inspiration and purpose. Hearing the things that people go through and how they come out on the other side. There’s nothing more rewarding to me than helping someone on their journey.

Can you tell us more about your beautiful Project UNFOLD-STUDIO

I had always dreamt of having a space where I could invite my clients, where they would feel safe, protected and comfortable. A healing space in the centre of a buzzing city that is a little hidden. Studio Unfold developed out of a desire to share my love for yin yoga, acupuncture and herbalism and how the three of these blend so seamlessly together to quieten an anxious mind.

Can you share with us your favourite herbal beauty tip?

One shot of pure aloe vera gel every morning 30 minutes before food or drink .

What does the word MAGIC mean to you?

To me, magic is a feeling beyond words. Almost like an ever present energy that we can tap into in any moment. Every corner we turn has the ability to surprise us, fill us with knowledge or teach us something. Our life experience and the little serendipitous things that happen on the day to day that we can’t explain with science or facts is magical to me.

Do you have a favourite ever single book?

It would have to be The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf.

Mine is for sure a dragonfly.

They follow me everywhere I travel when things are about to CHANGE. Like the butterfly they represent this ever changing nature of our existence and our ability to accept this.

What is your mantra?

Find the balance between the effort you put in below you and the grace that’s just given.

Allow the fact that anything can change in one moment to lead you to find joy, ease and compassion in every moment.
